The recent years have ignited a trend of military policies towards nuclear proliferation to maintain the integrity and power of their nationhood be it for the maintenance of democracy or the power of a single entity. Sadly, deterrence from nuclear proliferation is now in an all time low despite the repeated calls and reminders of the victims of the first and second atomic bombs dropped on cities. There is now a need for more efforts to bring a more impactful awareness towards nuclear non-proliferation.
Narratives and warnings from the atomic bomb victims seem to be no longer enough to remind the world of the horrors of nuclear decimation. However, visual forms of remembrances like in memorial museums may seem to have a bigger impact on visitors than words.
Transforming the narratives of the atomic bomb victims into sensorial experiences may provide a more impactful warning about the use of nuclear proliferation. With this approach, people get to experience the victims’ expereinces in an abstract manner even as a glimpse.
The hope for this is for people to be reminded enough of the terrors caused by the atomic bomb and trends toward nuclear proliferation are reversed.
