Origami No. 1

The study model was made with paper origami. Specifically the origami was made by following the first few steps of making a lotus origami.

The shape is translated into different wooden types and colours. The pattern is directly translated from the study model.

The geometric pattern on the table is reminiscent of a Karakuri puzzle box wherein different woods are used to create a pattern for the outside while its internal mechanism is concealed. Both these features are adopted into this furniture design by turning the design into a foldable table.
