Origami No. 2

The study model was made with paper origami. It was inspired by one of the furniture in Taleisin 1 by Frank Lloyd Wright.

The aim of the study model is to address how to make the chair lighter as this was one of the main criticisms about the chair. Although comfortable, the chair is too heavy to move around.

This design may remind someone of a cardboard box because of its folds. The cardboard box is also a source of inspiration on how to introduce efficient use of materials because cardboard is hard yet flexible.

In this design, the study model is designed with observations from folding and working with cardboard and weight improvements.
