The typical office space of the embassy follows an open plan layout. The layout implements an L-shaped space with an interlocking space as its central lounge and utility core.
This layout allows the removal of psychological barriers provide a better and easier departmental processing, cooperation, and collaboration between branches of an embassy.
Departments allocated in this layout share a dining space, a central lounge that can be used for open internal forums, and meeting rooms for more private conversations.
Departments needing more security is placed in the more obscure part of the layout nearer the meeting rooms.
The Japandi style is chosen for the interior design of the embassy’s typical office workspace to maintain the building’s concept of flattery to their host country while providing a modern touch to the workspace. By incorporating Nordic calming colours for accents while maintaining Japanese rich colours for the primary elements, like wooden floors and corners, the workspace is turned into a calm collaborative environment for single and group work.
